Spring Reading Days does not equal Spring Break E-mail

Hi all!

Well it's been a while since we posted anything so I thought I'd take a minute to post an update.  I was out of school last week for what Southern calls 'Spring Reading Days'.  I had it in my mind that it was a spring break of sorts.  Um, no.  Basically it is a week of no class but you spend double the amount of class time you would have spent doing projects or studying for tests that are scheduled right after the break.  There is no break about it, or at least with my classes there aren't.  I took a Philosophy midterm, wrote the biggest portion of an eight page book review, did Hebrew homework, studied for an Old Testament exam that is Tuesday and studied Hebrew vocabulary for a quiz Tuesday.  Oh and wrote a small book review that is due on Monday.  It was a busy week.

It was nice not having class for a week though.  I could sit around in shorts and a Daves Creek t-shirt all day instead of getting all dressed up in khaki pants and a shirt going to class.  On top of that a friend of ours Neal Wilson was in town.  He came back with us Sunday and spent a couple of days with us while Casey was working.  It was really nice getting to hang out with him and Sunny loved it because he threw the ball all day for her.

I did cook a good bit last week which was fun.  I made a cheesecake Friday night and I'm trying out a Chicken and Dumplings recipe tonight.  Cheesecake turned out pretty well.  Chicken and Dumplings are still cooking so we'll I'll let you know how that turned out. An update on this post - Chicken and Dumplings were awesome.  I highly recommend the recipe.  It's a Paula Deen recipe that actually doesn't call for butter of any sort.  I didn't think such existed.  Here's the link if you are interested.

The weather here in Louisville has been beautiful lately.  Kevin and I played our inaugural cornhole game yesterday.  We also played racquetball which was fun.  (I finally beat him at racquetball.  It was awesome.  Don't tell him I told you.) It sounds like our beautiful spring weather is about to end though.  Supposedly our high for the next couple of days will be around 45 and lows about 27.  They are actually calling for some snow tomorrow.  You'd think my parents were coming into town or something since that's when it seems to snow lately.

Thanks everyone for the continued prayers.  We love and miss you all!

See ya!
