Chris Ray informed me that certain things on the site didn't render correctly in IE. Figures. :) So I've gone back to a provided template until I can tweak mine. Probably I'll just tweak this one as I have no interest in fighting with IE. I do have IE here at work. So at least I have a box to test the page on. Bless you for telling me Chris, but curse you for using IE. So you pretty much nullified your efforts. Good job. :)
Speaking of work, it's going great. I'm working for Appriss. Everyone here is really nice and the environment, other than using windows, is great. There is talk of maybe getting a linux box at some point. Hopefully so. I'm back to doing perl for now. I'm working on a project for law enforcement in Texas. I write scripts that export the data from sheriff's offices and imports the data into our system so they can share data and check up on the bad guys faster. You would think that kinda thing would already exist. Should be a pretty rewarding job. The company does lots of cool things like notifying victims that a prisoner has been released. The culture here is great with a casual dress environment and a "just get your work done" attitude. I'm back to having an office with a door and everything. Haven't had one of those since my first job in Athens. I even have my own whiteboard which is always nice for us geeks. It's great that God has blessed me with a great new place to work. Especially as hard as it was to leave my old place.
But it did work out. About 2/3 of my old company got laid off a few weeks ago. Be in prayer for those guys. If anyone knows of any java/ruby or any other tech jobs in the Alpharetta/Atlanta area let me know and I'll pass the info along. Thanks.
